Top 7 Entrepreneur Lessons I Learned Before Turning 23Super pumped to share with you my top 7 entrepreneur lessons that I’ve learned before turning 23.

As my birthday is this week (January 6th), thought I’d do a Birthday blog post, and share my key lessons from the past 12 months.

I have to say, that it’s been quite a ride within the past year. Lots of ups, lots of downs. But all in all, 2017 has been a total blast. Traveled more than I ever have (which has always been one of my goals). Been to Chicago, Austin, Moscow (family visit), Dominican Republic, Manchester in the UK, Vegas, Tennessee (got to celebrate Thanksgiving for the first time).

So the year has been quite eventful. I’m not mentioning any of this to brag or to impress anybody (as long as my family are proud of me, I’m cool!). My point is if a 22-year old Russian chick could do it, ANYBODY can!

Let’s dig into the 7 entrepreneur lessons…

Lesson #1: Don’t Work Alone

When you first start out, you probably will be working on your own. However, I highly suggest finding an accountability partner (or a running buddy) to work alongside. It’s just pretty difficult always “being in the zone” and by yourself without being able to mastermind with somebody else.

I was on my own for almost a year until I found an accountability partner (who’s still one of my closest friends although we don’t work closely together anymore). It has made all the difference in the world.

You wanna find somebody who’s going to be on the same page. Someone who will have similar goals and core values. Maybe even someone who’s working on similar (or the same) marketing strategies.

My current accountability partners are doing pretty much the same things I’m doing. And you know what the key benefit of that is? Not only do you not feel alone, but you also get to feed off of each other’s strengths and mastermind. As a result, you all get better in the process. Super super powerful.

Lesson #2: Get Some Help

I don’t know about you, but one of my biggest qualities (maybe even one of the problems) is I’m a control freak. Can you relate? I’ve always been the type of person who tries to figure things out, instead of getting somebody else to do it for me.

Me, being just a few years out of high school, still a student at heart, so I enjoy the learning process. However, one of the absolute BEST things I’ve embraced in 2017 has been outsourcing. OMG, can I just say how much it made my life easier? For real!

I started out slow by hiring just 1 assistant for a couple hours a week, who is now my general VA (virtual assistant). And currently I have 3 assistants. Two other ones are doing my graphics’s design and video editing. I will say, that in total they probably work around 20 hours a week for me. If you really think about it, that’s 80 hours a month. EIGHTY! That’s all the time that I had saved for myself, in order to focus on more important things inside of my business.

Lesson #3: Get a Coach/Mentor

This right here has been one of my biggest business moves of 2017, and biggest entrepreneur lessons too. Simply because everyone has always been telling me “Jelena, you need to hire a coach“.

So I ended up hiring someone who we’ve become great friends with, and someone who’s super knowledgable when it comes to online marketing, Facebook ads, webinars and automation.

Been in that private mastermind for 6 months and, holy hell, my mindset stretched big time. Not to mention, that I was challenged to do the things that I would’ve never thought I would do in my life. Such as, preparing a sales webinar slides in less than 7 days.

Coaching IS challenging, but that’s the whole point of it – to push yourself to the limits and see how far you can go.

In the video below I share 4 more crucial entrepreneur lessons I learned before turning 23 years of age. Some of them are actually not directly business related, but they have made a drastic difference in my life.
