3 types of bloggers

Are you a blogger already? And even if you’re not yet, you gotta know this information before you even start.

Blogging is a huge industry if you call it like that. There are a lot of different bloggers out there. And every single one of them belongs to a certain type.

If you are in a home business industry, you’re gonna see in this post what kinda blogger you should be.

Here’s the thing – you can’t be something in between, or not sure what you do. When it comes to blogging – you have to be crystal clear on what you wanna do and what you wanna accomplish with your blog.

In this post I’m sharing 3 types of bloggers. Which one are you?

1.Publisher. These types of bloggers usually post minimum 7 times a week, if not more. An example can be Huffington Post, Men’s Health, Entrepreneur.com, Forbes or Business Insider. I personally read Business Insider every once in a while, and they post about 7-10 times per HOUR. This is insane! But they can do that, because they have a lot of publishers on their blog, who post about different topics in different categories.

Here’s the thing about publisher blogs – they deliver hot news, they tell you what’s going on in the world right NOW. They can’t go back and re-purpose their old content, because it’s not relevant anymore. Publisher blogs do not deliver evergreen content. That’s not their specialty.

So if you’re in home business industry like me, you can go back to your blog posts that you wrote several months or years ago, and you can re-purpose them. If you were a publisher blogger, you wouldn’t be able to do that.

You are NOT a publisher, so you are not required to create blog posts every day (however I DO recommend doing that in the beginning just so that you can create momentum on your blog and attract new visitors). If you can create 2-3 pieces of content every week, you’re good. Especially if blogging is not your main marketing strategy. And if it is, I suggest you blog 5-7 times a week.

2.Blog to grow and audience. That’s the type of blogger that I am. I blog to grow my audience and sell products. That’s the purpose of a blog in the home business industry.

If you are this type of blogger, then you may have affiliate products that you promote, you may have network marketing business, you may even have your own products. If any of that applies to you, you gotta build your audience via your blog.

Like I mentioned earlier, there are a lot of mixed opinions about the frequency that you should be blogging with. You can get away with 2-3 quality blog posts a week, BUT! I highly highly encourage you to blog every single day at least for the first 30 days. I mean, go hard, if you wanna get any results with blogging.

A lot of people ask me – “how do I get more traffic on my blog? I don’t have enough visitors”. I always reply with another question – “How often do you blog?”. And usually the answer is “several times a month or several times a week”. Well, that’s the reason why you’re not getting enough traffic. Commit to a 30 day challenge, or a 90 day challenge if you dare, stop making excuses, and start getting traffic and leads!

3.I’m kinda blogging, but I’m not selling anything. That one of the types of bloggers that just has a hobby, like cooking or knitting, or whatever, but not doing anything with their hobby. The thing is – you can monetize every passion that you have, just read Gary Vee’s book “Crush It”.

A lot of bloggers are using a free blogging platform, like blogspot, or wix, or something similar. But some do use paid options like WordPress, they pay for hosting and domains, etc. Let me ask you a question – why are you paying for your hobby? You gotta monetize it somehow!

Sign up for Amazon affiliates program, you can write a book yourself, you can create coaching or training around your passion, you can let people advertise on your blog if you get a lot of traffic. There are SO many ways to monetize your passion. You just gotta DO IT!

Watch the video below about different types of bloggers, where I share that topic more in depth.
