Can you make money blogging? That’s the question I hear all the time.
Blogging is very popular in SO many different niches – home business, health & wellness, photography, architecture, fashion, etc. You can blog about everything that you want.
When I was studying at school, I was always interested in fashion, and at some point I even wanted to start a blog, but didn’t have enough knowledge to actually do it. So eventually I did it, but in a different niche 🙂
So the real problematic questions is – can you really make money blogging? Is it profitable? Is it something you could focus all your energy into?
So today I’m going to share with you 2 ways on how you can make money blogging.

So there are 2 blogging models, which you can monetize: Average and Ultimate.
1.Average Blogging Model
So what this model is about? So first of all, you choose any niche you want to blog in. Focus on high quality content – that’s what your target audience wants. And in order to monetize your blog, you add Google AdSense, so other people’s advertising is being shown on your website.
Now, there are more disadvantages than advantages. These ad rates are ridiculously low, which is about a dollar per 1000 views, so you need a TON of traffic to your website. Even if you run ads to your blog, you won’t be in profit.
Moreover, you don’t have any control over ads that are shown on your blog, typically they are not even relevant to your blog’s content at all. So targeting is not perfect. And having those ads may cause your readers leave your blog, which means you basically lose your audience in return for nothing.
Worth mentioning the fact, that when someone clicks on one of the ads on your blog, they leave your site, which increases the bounce rate.
So clearly, this is not the blogging model to build up.
Let’s look at the second way to make money blogging.
2.Ultimate Blogging Model
With this model you’re main focus is to solve your readers’ problems. And again, you do that by providing high quality content, that your audience wants.
Your number one goals it to capture your reader. You need to give something away for free in exchange for their email address. That’s what’s called a lead magnet, that I talked about in this post.
Then you form a relationship with your subscribers and readers by providing value on a consistent basis. Through your blog you establish yourself as an authority figure, as a go-to expert within your niche.
But how do you actually make money blogging with this model? Pretty simple. You recommend solutions to solve your audience’s problems. By recommending different products and systems you can make money blogging.
The key with having a blog is not just to sell something, but to Position yourself as a leader and build relationships with your audience.
It’s pretty obvious, that as marketers we would stick to the second way to make money blogging, since we use our blog as a platform to share our story and increase our audience.
