Network Marketing and pretty much every profession is all about branding Yourself. Not all companies actually mention that, and that’s why most marketers brand their company and do it all wrong. When you spill all the information about your company, people will just “google” it and find a lot of negativity and some “scam reviews”. And guess what? They will never join your company, and you particularly. Moreover, they won’t even remember you, because you are just another person who was spamming their link. That’s it.

Instead of branding your company and spamming your company’s links, I highly encourage you to brand YOUR name! This is critical, if you wanna build a successful long term business. You won’t attract a lot of people to your business, if you lead with your company’s products or opportunity. When you lead with VALUE, that’s where the money is. That’s how you should build your business.

The concept of leading with Value and branding yourself is called Attraction Marketing. If you’re not familiar with this term or not sure what it is, read one of my previous blog posts where I explain what it is.

When you focus on branding yourself, YOU become the brand, YOU attract the right people to YOU, not to your company. And when people start to know, like and trust you, they will be interested how to work with you in your business. That’s how you can prospect them in your primary business opportunity. It is better to sponsor people who already know YOU, than spam those who don’t, right?

So let’s dive into the exact steps of branding yourself as a leader.

1)One of the best ways to position yourself as an expert in your niche is through blogging. When people arrive to your blog, they think of you as a go-to person, as someone that helped them with their problem. Now you don’t just pitch your business opportunity, you provide the solution. This is so much more powerful, especially when you have a blog.

2)Setup your Social Media accounts, these are the most used platforms online and the best way to connect with people online. Before you start your Social Media prospecting, you need to make sure that your accounts look professional. And the first thing that you wanna do is create a profile picture, and put the same picture on every social media account. That way people will memorize you if you connect with them on several platforms. I personally tend to change my Facebook profile picture every once in a while. But when you’re just getting started, I don’t recommend doing that.

3)Create your small caption, that tells people what you do. It doesn’t have to be long. As an example, here’s how mine looks like – “Helping Entrepreneurs Create a Successful Brand Online Using Social Media & Blogging”. It’s short and sweet, and that’s how people can memorize me. You can make something similar. And the most important thing that I wanna mention is when you come up with your caption, include it on EVERY Social Media account (and on a blog, if you have one). You have to be consistent with your brand. And if you do change your caption, change it EVERYWHERE.

4)Create your branded header. It’s not necessary when you’re just getting started with Social Media Marketing, so in the beginning instead of trying to create a good header, just find a high definition wallpaper and put it on your accounts. Just to give you an idea, you can use your dream place, such as Caribbean beaches or Miami city center. That’s up to you. And if you want to have a header, that will brand You, then you can either outsource it (oDesk.com or Fiverr.com) or you can make one yourself if you like to design stuff, and the best way to do that is Photoshop (that’s how I created my header for this blog). Make sure, you put your blog link on your header, or if you don’t have a blog yet, just put your name and your caption, you can always change it to your blog link.

5)Choose colors that you wanna be featured on your header and on your blog itself. Colors also affect psychologically to your blog readers, so you may even read some articles about choosing the right color for your website. And once you choose your color, just STICK to it, that way you’ll stay in your readers’ mind. As an example, think of McDonalds. What if they changed their letter “M” color from yellow to blue? I think, you get the idea.

6)Don’t talk about your business opportunity all the time EVER. Instead of that, always EDUCATE people. Provide valuable content, provide solutions to their problems, help them. When you do help people, they will consider you as an authority figure, and you build trust and credibility immediately.
