Let me tell you upfront, it’s not as hard as it may seem like. However, before we dive into the creation process, what is a lead magnet?

A lead magnet is simply a free offer or giveaway that people get for an exchange of their email address. It can be an ebook, a free video, a video series, even a webinar.

In this lead magnet checklist I’m showing you the entire step-by-step process you need to go through to get your offer up and running. (There’s only 5 steps, so it’s fairly simple!)

Before you even start working on your free giveaway, you obviously need to know your niche and what the biggest problems are. What is your audience struggling with?

If in health and wellness, it might be trying to lose weight without going to the gym.

Or if in skincare, it might be wanting to look young without having to lie under the knife.

If in entrepreneurship, it might be lead generation or branding.

Your lead magnet must be specific and it has to solve one particular problem. Don’t make it everything to everyone, because you’ll end up attracting no one. Specificity is the real key there.

So here’s your lead magnet checklist..

1.Pick a Topic

Like I already mentioned, you need to find the most pressing challenge of your audience, and create your lead magnet around that. Your goal with the free giveaway is to solve a particular problem.

If you’re talking about lead generation through social media, talk about one particular platform. When talking about health & wellness, you can create a lead magnet around meal planning for busy moms. Again, that’s just an example to get your creative juices flowing.

You can create multiple lead magnets down the line. There’s no need to limit yourself, which is why every lead magnet has to be focused on one specific area.

2.Design/Outsource

Once you know what you want to cover and you have a couple of bullet points for your lead magnet content, it’s time to get it done. You would need to design it if it’s a PDF or record it if it’s a video.

What do you do if writing is not your forte? Outsource it! There’s plenty of services, such as Fiverr or Upwork, where you can find skilled writers to get this done for you. Later on you can tweak the text just in case, or to make it sound more like you.

There’s nothing wrong with outsourcing in the areas where you’re not that good at. It will save you a TON of time, and you’ll be happy with the result.

  1. I think as well the best way to create a giveaway that produces great results is to choose a topic that people are truly passionate and care about. The more people care, the more they will naturally participate and be interested. Great post my friend, love it!
