When it comes to marketing any business online, there are tons of ways to consider utilizing, but if you divide them into two big categories, it comes down to Free Marketing and Paid Marketing.
Free Marketing strategies are Video marketing, Blogging, SEO, Social Media Marketing (providing value and reaching out to people), Forum Marketing, Free Classifieds.
Free Marketing is good for someone who is just getting started and doesn’t have a big advertising budget, and for someone who is not yet educated well enough to actually turn your ads into profit. But the downside of free marketing is takes time, a LOT of time. Of course, eventually it builds up and brings consistent results over time, which is why, free marketing is still a “must” for EVERY marketer!
And what goes to paid advertising, it is the FASTEST way to generate leads, convert them into sales, and build your business. But there are certain things, that you need to remember before investing a dime into paid advertising.
First of all, these are the main types of paid advertising:
- Facebook Ads
- Youtube PPC (pay-per-click)
- Bing Ads
- Google Ads
- Twitter Ads
- Banner Ads
- Solo Ads
- PPV (pay-per-view)
So as you can see, there are PLENTY of ways to advertise your business online, but you need to be careful on how you spend the money on it.
Before you EVER start any paid advertising campaigns, you MUST educate yourself. You can either go to Youtube or Google and find free training on any marketing strategy that you need, or you can save yourself a ton of time and energy by using a system like MLSP, where you can find training pretty much on EVERY SINGLE marketing strategy that you can ever think of.
So education is one thing, and another very crucial factor of not making any money from paid advertising is not testing. Paid advertising is all about testing, you always have to know what works and what doesn’t work in your marketing.
Would you like to spend $1 per lead, or $3 per lead? The answer is pretty obvious, you want to know your CTR (click through rate), how many people actually click on your ad, how many of those who click become a lead, how many of those lead turn into sales.
So this is what you need to test when doing paid advertising:
- Squeeze Page / Opt In Rate
- Images (if doing Facebook ads especially)
- Copy (headline, description on the page)
- Your CTA – Call to Action
- Your offer (if you have two different offers, or more, you need to know which one gives better conversions and higher ROI – Return On Investment).
So education and testing are the key factors of running successful ads. And I also put together a Keynote presentation, where I outlined paid advertising more in details. Be sure to watch it!
Did you get value out of this? If so, I would greatly appreciate if you commented and shared!
