social media automation

Should you really do social media automation for marketing? Is this really effective for your business?

Here’s the thing – there are SO many different social media channels that you can market your business on, and sometimes people get overwhelmed with all of them.

Not only that, social media can be a HUGE distraction when you’re not using it correctly. Why? Because there are both kinds of people – those who use it just to have fun, and those who are using it for business. Ever tried to do something productive and then found yourself watching funny videos? I sure have!

Social media has its name for a reason. People come to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to socialize – to connect with new people, to see what their friends are up to. That’s one of the reasons why I don’t really believe in social media automation (partially). Sometimes people are lazy to actively engage with their friends, and they look for tools and resources that will save them time. I personally don’t like to spend all of my time on social media. That’s why I do automate some of them (but still not 100{f3c65145988e2e59c83e583cebd868b487b41a6223d103cb7159bbb31ea456e1}).

Like I mentioned earlier, there are lots of social media channels, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, Linked In, Periscope, Pinterest, Snapchat, Blab and many more. I’m not gonna be talking about all of them (simply because I don’t use them all). In this post I’m gonna cover primary Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Speaking of Facebook, I 100{f3c65145988e2e59c83e583cebd868b487b41a6223d103cb7159bbb31ea456e1} don’t believe in automating it (unless you’re using a Fan Page). If you do use a Fan Page, then I do recommend for you to schedule out your posts for them to go out throughout the day or week. That’s what Facebook did for you to save you time. And people don’t actually see that you scheduled those posts. They come as if you just posted them.

There are also tools like Hootsuite and PostPlanner, which are both great, but I don’t recommend using them if you wanna grow your engagement on your personal profile. I’ve done that myself and I’ve seen people using those tools, and engagement literally goes to zero. Why? Because people see that you didn’t post that yourself, Hootsuite/Postplanner did. And people just don’t engage, because they know that you’re probably not gonna reply back to them.

Another social media site that I use quite a lot is Instagram. And that’s the place where I do social media automation at about 70{f3c65145988e2e59c83e583cebd868b487b41a6223d103cb7159bbb31ea456e1}. There’s a great tool called Instagress, which is 10 bucks a month, and absolutely worth it. It allows you to follow/unfollow people automatically without you having to do this manually. You can also comment on people’s posts with this tool, and do all sorts of crazy stuff, as they are updating it all the time. But you gotta be careful with the way you use it.

What a lot of people have been asking is if it’s possible to post on Instagram from computer? Yes, it is! There’s a service called OnlyPult.com, it’s a paid one. You can schedule your posts and go do something else. That’s something you can definitely automate!

In terms of Twitter, I’m not using it a whole lot. However, I heard some people getting amazing results with it with regards to lead generation. This is actually the place where I do social media automation, because no one will see that the posts are not posted by me, which is pretty cool. You can use Hootsuite, and no one will actually see that.

A great tool for Twitter automation is Crowdfire (you can get an app for iPhone or even an extension for Google Chrome). I use it for sending automated messages to my new followers. I also unfollow non-followers every once in a while. And I heard that you can also schedule your Twitter posts as well.

You can learn more in detail about each social media automation tool in the video below.
